Kensington Park School – A Case Study

A unique approach to tennis training and academic studies at a leading sixth form independent school.

In a new partnership with Will to Win, Kensington Park School provides an attractive solution which supports the academic and athletic needs of the rising tennis stars of this, and the next, generation.

Situated just a short walk from Hyde Park’s Will to Win tennis courts, a new sixth form, co-educational, independent school opens for September 2017 with the age 11 – 16 section of the school opening in September 2018.  Although a new school, KPS has attracted a team with a wealth of experience in running leading HMC schools. And with the help of Will to Win tennis coaches, tennis scholarships are awarded on entry to Kensington Park School.

These scholarships are designed to support committed and talented pupils who are already spending significant amounts of time developing their competitive tennis career in addition to pursuing their academic studies. KPS explores ways to make the best use of free time during the day to enable pupils to manage their busy training schedules.

Kensington Park School is a co-educational independent day and boarding school, in the heart of London, within walking distance of Will to Win Hyde Park.
KPS operates from two buildings either side of Kensington Gardens:
KPS Sixth Form, in Queen’s Gate, opens in September 2017 for pupils aged 16-18
KPS Seniors, in Bark Place, opens in September 2018 for pupils aged 11-16.

KPS’s staff are some of the most experienced teachers in the capital. They come from a number of the UK’s leading independent schools, in particular St Paul’s School. Our St Paul’s veterans include the former acting High Master, Surmaster, Senior Tutor, Undermaster, Registrar, Head of Department of Economics and highly experienced teachers of Mathematics and Chemistry.

Many of them have more than 25 years’ experience of helping their pupils to achieve outstanding grades at GCSE and A-Level as well as entry into the world’s finest universities, including Oxbridge and the US Ivy League. They have also been responsible for integrating pastoral care, sport, music and performing arts into the curriculum in order to provide a fully-rounded education for each pupil. With these outstanding teachers, the school is in an excellent position to compete directly with the biggest names in senior education.
