We run our sessions Monday – Sunday so you will be sure to find an option that fits with your schedule.

Not sure of your playing standard?

Group tennis lessons are a great way to improve your tennis ability and consistency. You (and those around you) will benefit most by playing at the appropriate playing standard.

Your progression will depend on previous experience playing tennis as well as general sporting ability and fitness.

Playing Standards

Beginner…This means you’ve never played, just started playing, haven’t picked up a racket for years or are still working on the basics of your game.

Improver…You know the basic techniques and are able to keep a rally going, however you still make quite a few mistakes and you may find serving difficult.

Intermediate…You play fairly regularly and your technique is solid. You use some tactical play but struggle a little when putting together points against advanced players.

Advanced…You have played a lot of tennis over many years. Serving with spin, placement and power are part of your game. You can rally consistently and create opportunities to win points off both your forehand and bankhand. You compete regularly or have the desire to do so.

It’s difficult to make an objective self-rating; we recommend you ask a coach to decide for you.

A comprehensive tennis programme is available for all levels of ability. Use the guide below to help decide which sessions are for you. British Tennis (LTA) Ratings (10.2 – 1.1) provide numerical classification.

Our courses are a fantastic way to train and compete with players of a similar level whilst gaining some fantastic coaching advice from our qualified coaches.

Beginner:  These courses are intended for players new to tennis or those who may struggle with the fundamentals, such as forehand & backhand technique and consistency. Coaching instruction utilises drills & games to slowly introduce and teach players the basics, including stroke production, serving and keeping score.

Beginner/Improver: These courses are ideal for anyone returning to play after a long break or taking up tennis for the first time. Game based learning is used to emphasise basic stroke production. This includes forehand & backhand groundstrokes, serve & return of serve and volley & smash techniques. Games and point-based scenarios are used to reinforce technique, introduce basic tactics and strong scoring systems.

Intermediate: These courses are for more experienced players who want to gain consistency. Players at this standard will have a basic skill base and will probably have played tennis for some time. As a guide, you should have sufficient skill to be able to: consistently rally to 10 from the baseline using forehands and backhands, serve overarm, volley and smash with 60% efficiency.

Advanced: This course is for players who have played a lot of tennis over the years and play regularly. You can rally consistently and create opportunities to win points off of both your forehand and backhand. You can serve, volley and smash with confidence. You compete regularly or desire to do so.

Weekly Drills sessions are ideal for trying out tennis for the first time or determining your skill level before signing up for a course. Receiving extra coaching to compliment a course or receiving coaching without committing to regularly attending a course are other great benefits of our no commitment, Weekly Drills sessions.

These sessions can be booked a maximum of up to three days before the desired session unless you are a Smartcard holder, which allows you to book up to 7 days before your session.

Weekend Intensive Clinics at Will to Win are designed to improve your tennis by putting forth maximum effort in minimum time through intensive coaching, drills, analysis and tactical instruction. Our experienced coaches use game-based sessions to cover all areas of tennis, from stroke production to tactics and scoring.  Weekend clinics typically run over 1 or 2 days and are specifically designed for players of an advertised playing standard.

Will to Win run a number a tennis holidays and international camps throughout the year, and have been doing so for over 15 years. We have many more exciting trips planned for 2019!
