Adult Courses
Beginner and Improver courses run mid week for a series of six lessons. Places are limited and courses are popular. Please register in advance to avoid disapointment.
Beginners’ Course This course is ideal for anyone taking up tennis for the first time or returning to play after a long break.
Game based learning with an emphasis on basic stroke production, including a technical look at forehand/backhand groundstrokes, serve/return of serve, volleys and smashes. Various games and points based scenarios are played to introduce basic tactics and scoring.
Improvers’ Course Players at this standard will have practised their tennis for some months. You will have basic knowledge of tennis techniques and tactics. As a guide, you should have sufficient playing experience to be able to: consistently rally to 10 from the baseline using forehands and backhands, serve overarm, volley and smash with 60% efficiency. Make sure you are of the appropriate playing standard before you sign up by speaking to a coach. See playing standard. The course looks in depth at the techniques used in tennis. Content of sessions is differentiated and tailored according to players’ standards. Example themes:
- Generating top spin, direction and consistency on forehands and backhands
- Consistency, physical positioning and direction of volleys
- Correct grip for generating pace and spin on the serve, and keys to consistency
- Correct positioning and repositioning on the court
- A tactical look at different game based situations in both singles and doubles play

Tennis Weekends
Aimed at Improver/Intermediate standard players, Tennis Weekends provide a focused opportunity to work on all aspects of your game, and so make quick progress. The weekend is full of intensive coaching, drills, analysis and tactics. 3-hour morning sessions are directed by enthusiastic and encouraging coaches. Ideal if you are prepared to put in maximum effort to improve your game.

1. INTENSIVE TENNIS
Game based sessions which cover all areas of tennis from stroke production to tatices and scoring.

2. MENTAL GAME
Focus on psychological performance on court. Lots of game play, plus off court learning.
