Adult Tennis

Tennis is fun and exciting, especially if you are playing out in the open air! But it is also a very technical game. Riding a bicycle well, is not just 'as easy as riding a bike', nor is kicking a football well, just ' as easy as kicking a ball.' These activities are learned and practiced skills that require dedication, effort and time before they can be mastered, and made to look easy.

It's exactly the same with tennis. Remember: a tennis racket is simply a very specialized stick with a small trampoline at the end of it. If you learn how to use the stick well, you can really amplify the throwing power of your body and arm, but if you don't really know how to use it, you may even end up hurting yourself.

The essence of tennis is very simple, and the simpler you keep your stroke action, the better off you'll be. Key tennis technique can be concentrated down to a few simple statements, but to put these into practice can take a lifetime of practical application. If you understand the fundamentals, and then find a way to apply them, you will become a great player.

A tennis player is a craftsman like a carpenter or a heart surgeon. The best ones always claim that what they do is simple, but then you look and you see the dedication and focus and, of course, you also see the results.

The art of living, becoming a tennis-artist, is so simple, but it's not at all easy. You wouldn't have it any other way, so pick a craft and become a master of it... you'll never get there, but you'll have a great time.
